Natural Dye Workshop. 9th July (10:30 - 13:30). £95

Seam Haberdashery and Broomby's flowers are offering this Natural Dye Workshop to help you use your garden as a starting point to explore the wide range of flowers and plants available locally to create the most beautiful range of colours and prints. In this 3 hour workshop you will be able to explore and experiment with how to dye cloth and yarn to achieve a wide range of colours which could be developed further into your own textile projects.

You will meet Cory who owns Broomby's and discuss the possibility of starting your own dye garden to create your own homegrown colour, even if you only have a small garden with space for a few pots. Many common British plants grown locally in Devon give a wide range of colour and possibilities.

Michelle, who owns Seam haberdashery, will talk you through the dyes available and demonstrate simple techniques which you can continue with at home in your own kitchen, to discover the endless tones of colour and patterns possible with a few simple, everyday plants and ingredients. By the end of your workshop you will be able to take all your fabric and yarn samples home with you.

This workshop is designed for you to learn a new skill in a beautiful relaxing location and will suit anyone over the age of 16.

THIS WORKSHOP WILL TAKE PLACE AT BROOMBY'S: BRADDICKS, WHITE CROSS ROAD, WOODBURY SALTERTON, EXETER EX5 1PX
